St. Augustine gator farm ist week in May still OK?

I'm traveling to Florida (from Sydney, Australia) for the first time and was wondering if it will still be worthwhile to make a trip out to St Augustine gator farm in the first week of May?
Also if I do make it out there (staying in Ft Lauderdale) how do I get a photo pass beforehand?
Any tips or advice greatly appreciated.

It is so good that it is the time we picked for our workshop there :)

You can call them on the phone and give them your card and they will mail it to you.

In case it's too late for that, you will leave your driver's license with them at 8:00 Am by the red door and buy the pass as you exit for lunch.
