    This image was taken while in Socorro, NM on our last day there. Got really lucky when the sun finally graced us with its presence!

    Canon 40D, 70-200L & 1.4TC @ 280mm
    F6.3, 1/2500sec, ISO 400, manual mode
    handheld while down on the ground...covered in poop

    The colors, details and exposure are outstanding. Composition works for me very well and the open beak is a huge plus!

    The green feathers are killer. Great details. I also agree with Maxis that the open beak is a plus. If it were mine I might try and light the eye a little. Thanks for sharing.

    Really, really nice!! The colors and light are just wonderful!! And, has been said, that open beak is the bomb.

    Perfect portrait in my humble opinion and the angle is spot on the way it should be. I really could not fault it even if I had tried hard. :) Congratulations Marina.

    Marina, This is a beautiful portrait! You've got the greens perfectly ,the nice clear eye and the open mouth all with nice details! Well done.
