I took number of shots of this male last evening. I liked this one with side light for a more colorful gorget. Lightened the shadow on the gorget, cloned a branch and reduced background noise The settings were -

    40D, Sigma 50-500 @500 hand held
1/250 sec, f/6.3, ISO 400, Mode: Av, Evaluative

    Your comments would be appreciated.

    Hi Indranil
Nice bird in a nice setting. I'd add a touch more space behind it and also sharpen it more. Did you crop much?

I like the iridescence, head angle and BG and agree regarding more sharpening.

Ákos, Axel, thanks for the feedback. This was a 60% crop. Here is another version with more room behind and more sharpning. I use two pass usm (250/.3/1 and 100/.2/0)...

The repost does look sharper to me. Much better IMHO. :) Thanks.
