Welcome Steve...nice capture, especially with partially eaten fish, looks like this guy has eaten here before with all the scales on the wire...Steve I'd probably move the bird to right of centre, if this was a crop, try cropping again and keep Osprey to the right, with more room on left. Also I'd do some work on the darker eye so they match, (check out The Digital Basics PDF File ). Also a little sharpening on the bird, try to include details of picture f-stop, shutter speed, ISO...etc..Keep them coming

Wellcome on board Steve. I totally agree with Paul´s suggestions. Do not forget to include details about shutter speed, f-stop and the like.
The sidelight and the perch are not the best but the eye contact is fantastic. Keep them coming :-)

Paul---Thank you so much for the critique---I have Photoshop Elements 6 and will try and work on the eye---I did sharpen---how do you sharpen and how far do you go--is it experience or is there a certain aspect of the photo you look at to sharpen-i.e. head, feathers---I think you can over sharpen--right
Also, thanks for the Digital Basics---will it compliment Elements 6 or is it a separate program---iso was 100, speed 1/512, f5.6---Thanks--Steve

Digital Basics is a learning tool...helps you to learn techniques to improve your images....mask and sharpen bird, try different levels...you'll see what works and what doesn"t, you can over sharpen.
