    Default Dancing Great Blue

This GBH was trying to brush away some vultures that were in his space. The image looks like he is dancing in the Sun.

1DMK2 with 500 f4. Evaluative metering using Av with EV zero and ISO 400 f 4 and 1/5000. Cropped from the right to eliminate a vulture. I used a multiply layer to tone down the whites.

Thanks for looking. All comments are most welcome.

Nice shot. I enjoy the GBHs as they were plentiful where I use to shoot. Learned a lot about bird photog by shooting them.

Only real comment I have is it would have been nice to have the background consistent. The "piled" grasses to the left being in focus, whereas the rest is blurred.

I think the cropping of the right side gave you a nice feel for the image. It took it out of center and gave it a path to follow to the left.

    Nice shot.

The pose is just superb! Light is stunnnig! Detail and sharpness are great as well, IMO the ambient/BG are a little bussy, but still a lovely shot! Congratulations!

I like the pose and head angle. I would sharpen the bird less and not sharpen the grass at the bottom.
