Rain is always a plus for images, if not for the equipment :)

A bit centered horizontally, for the reason you mention. He is looking away from you rather than at you, which would have been preferable and I would desaturate the perch. I like the backlit tail.

I like the bird, nice color and pose. I agree with the perch, though that was his choice.
