Welcome Arno. Would love to see the coucal but there's no image in your post. Try Editing the post, Go advanced and adding the image again. Make sure it's under the 200k, 1024 x 800 max length by width measurements and Preview Post to confirm it's there before submitting. Have a look at this thread for instructions:

    Welcome Arno

I have never seen an image of a Coucal in flight, normally they are well hidden in the bushes.
Can you post the technical details of the shot?
This would benefit from a little sharpening probably using Quick Mask, there are lots of people who could point out where this techique is posted on this forum.

OK now I can se the image. Very nice Arno. What a great bird! You've done a nice job with the bird in flight. The wings give you a nice sense of movement. Your BG is great and the lighting is warm and fairly soft. Is there any detail in the tail that you could bring out? About the only thing I would do with the image is selectively sharpen the bird a bit more. I tried it with Ps and the result looked good.

Thank you John and Ken for all the positive comments and the assistance .Tried some selective sharpening and to bring out a little more detail in the tail. Hope there is some improvement.

Did you replace the original image Arno? Better to repost so that we can compare original and reworked. I tried an aggressive Smart sharpen (amount = 200%, radius = 0.3 pixels) with your original. Here it is:

Hey Arno, welcome to BPN. Great sighting, and love the forward wing position, captured in stunning light. Stands out nicely against the grassy BG. John's repost on the sharpening works well. Looking forward to more from you.

Welcome to BPN, Arno! Very nice first post. I like the wing position, light and BG. A slightly wider crop and more sharpening make a big difference. Keep them coming!

Wow! Nice repost John. Looks like a few of my shots could use that treatment. Nice way to start off Arno. Good job. Lets see more!!
