Nice and sharp Ken, and I like the downward stroke of the wings. He stands out nicely against the clear sky.

Neat looking bird. I like the stripping on the legs. Never seen this bird myslef so I can't say for sure but the orange color seems a bit too vibrant.

Super effort here Ken. The oranges look a bit over-saturated and I notice a strange halo around the bird at the top. Its ever so slight but a little distracting. Where abouts in Central Kalahari did you stay? I was there around the same time. We stayed at Khankhe Pan just north of Khutse Game Rreserve.

Looks like it's a good looking bird. Although I'm not sure the wing position you've got here is the best (probably has something to do with the angle you were shooting from), I'd like to see more of this bird. As is it certainly looks sharp and clear with vibrant colors. Thanks for sharing!

    Thanks for the comments.

The legs and beak are normally a bright orange, but perhaps not as bright as these, all of my images seem to get slightly oversaturated when converting to JPEG.

The shot was taken in Deception Valley where we were camping, a very beautiful area.

This is the best of about 7 frames when it took off, most of which were clipped, I have to confess that I should really have used my 28-300 as we were quite close.

I posted another picture of a differnt bird eating a lizzard at this thread
