This is a captive bird with an apparent wing injury. I kind of likened my outing to a Sydney wildlife park yesterday to Florida photography. :D Birds all over and easy to approach, yet still tough to get an acceptable image. This is one I was happy with.

30D, 100mm f/2.8 USM macro, 430EX, handheld image captured through wire. Full frame.

Yes, we have domesticated all our birds as an entry requirement to our state! Sharp where it needs to be; love the eye, details and color!

Perfect head angle and good detail in the feathers. As mentioned, sharp where it needs to be.
Thanks for sharing this one, Akos.
Not because an animal is captirve alwaysa means easy work, in fact, it could be even harder.

    Good capture.

As others have said good exposure and feather detail, etc.

Possibly a bit more room at top would have been good.

Captive or not, a very nice portrait with good detail and color. Only minor nit would be a bit of NR on the BG. Well done.

I find captive bird usually to be harder to photograph, as I don't know what to expect and they are alaways or very calm or very scared... I have worked with captive birds, specially in raptors rehab centers and others, I don't mind a good image created this way :) But as Fabs mentioned, at least I find it harder to work with captive subjects.
Congratulations on a wonderfull shot, very nice DOF, light, colors and detail, I wouls have prefered a bit more room all arround and a lighter BG, but I think it loks great as it is. Congratulations!
