This image was made at Lake Geneva, Switzerland with a Canon 30D and EF 500mm f4 _ 1.4xTC at f8 1/800s at ISO 200. I took a number of images as the grebe actually fed the fish into the chicks mouth but in that image while the chicks mouth was open the mother grebe's face was turned away from the camera so that it eye could no longer be seen. So chose this image which have bothe grebe and chick almost in one plane.
Very intimate moment and interaction. I like the poses and angle. I would put the birds further to the right in the frame, just a personal preference. I wish I could see the eye of the adult a bit better.
This is the same species of grebe that we get in Australia (Great Crested Grebe). Difficult to get the right head angle in these feeding situtaions but good attenpt.
Great behaviour image! I love the low angle and the crop you chose for this one. I would reduce the contrast, especially on the female. I might also reduce the saturation of the water.
