    This is a pretty large crop to eliminate some distracting elements but it still needed some cleanup. Hope it still works. Photographed a week ago at Carmel River State Beach in Carmel, CA.

    Great to see one in the open. Head angle, light and angle look good. I might sharpen the bird a bit more.

    Great catch in excellent light. Tight in the frame and agree on the sharpening.

    I agree on the sharpening. I like the open beak and the head turn. If you could lighten the shadows of the tail and reed it would be better. It is my understanding that these are rare to see totally in the open. Well seen and good capture.

    Excellent low angle with nice light. Another vote for a little more sharpening!
