This was taken in January of this year. The image was underexposed by 1 stop so at 400 ISO there was a bit of noise when I brought the exposure up in processing and I had to use more noise reduction than I wished.

    Camera Info:
Olympus E-3; Takahashi FC60 refractor (1000mm 35mm focal length); ISO 400; 1/250 sec at f8; tripod; manual exposure; manual focusing

    RAW Conversion:
Olympus Studio 2 software; 6600K -1 tint; contrast 0; saturation 0; sharpness off; aRGB color space

    CS2 Info:
Shadow/Highlight adjustment; dodging; slight crop; noise reduction; Nik sharpening; converted to sRGB

I like the perch, pose, raised crest, soft light and the snow adds to it. I find the bird a bit too centered and would crop a tad off the right and add canvas on the left.

Very pretty winter scene. Agree with Axel on the framing and may go a bit lighter. Keep them coming!

I wasn't able to add canvas to the left as what is there is the edge of the full frame though I cropped a bit from the top and right side. Hopefully this helps. I brought up the mid tones with curves and took a bit of blue out of the highlights.
