These youngsters were running all over the place, obviously full of energy. Captured this as they stood still to catch their breath. Taken in the Pilanesberg nature reserve.

The first thing I look for in a Gnu image is the eyes, which are rarely captured, you have them although small, I would try lightening them a little. The grass is a nuisance at this time of year but does add something to the picture. Did you get any of them running?

I agree that the grass adds to the image. I think a higher aperture would have been better. It is good that the eyes are visible.

    Thanks for comments guys.

Ken, yes I do have some of them running, but as they were quite far away, and to get a couple in the frame, it would be a large crop.

I like this, Stuart. Grass is nice and it seems to capture the dopey energy of the young wildebeeste well. I would clean up the stalk of grass going onto the face of the front animal and the one crossing the second onto the face of the third.

Nice image. I like the animals in this grass. Colors look good and the stalk heads on the grass add a nice bit of detail and color. Only thing I'd wish was for the last one to be a little more cooperative for you and stand on the opposite side closer towards you or a little further back so you could see his face too.
