Hi Lance. You have raised the bar on the SOC motif! This is just stunning. If I could get a picture like this out of my camera, I could save a lot of money on software...
Excellent control of the harsh sun, as you have filled up the dynamic range from black to white without clipping either. ;) Big time congrats.
This is great mate. I am not familiar with either species so my guess is young Wedge-tail or Black-brested Buzzard? Leaning toward BBB. Well done mate. Great SOC!
Well done Mr. Peters,
I like the composition, this is a sweet capture...good head angle and clear eye...now all thats needed are the fine tweaks in post processing...good show...
Lance, at the moment of acquisition who was more contemplative; you or the bird? Great image! Knowing now that the bird was more than simply captive - could not move or fly - the bird almost has a resigned or contemplative look. How was the bird held so captive; how far from the captive bird were you?
Hi Jay - Bird was captive - it could move around the ground but seemed to have no inclination to try and fly off - it was not constrained in any way at this point, handlers were present and bird seemed to obey their commads for the most part.
My commenst on the shutter speed were more along the lines of - I Knew in advance that the bird was not going to be permitted to do any flying displays - hence no need for any faster shutter speed.
