    Default Short-eared Owl #1

    Hi Folks,
It's been a while since I've posted here, but the newsletter promted me to have a look and submit something.
Here is recent image of one the many Short-eared Owls I've been fortunate enough to be able to photograph.
I hope this comes across OK linked from hosted image.

    Canon 1D Mk II, 500/4IS + 2X @ f/8 , 1/200sec, iso 160, Aperture Priority, Center-weighted avg, Tripod,slightly cropped.

    Thanks for looking/commenting.

Great details, eye contact, perch and complementing BG. I would put the bird a bit higher in the frame. Keep them coming!

Agree with Axel on all counts ... also maybe lighten the right eye a bit.

Very nice image. I like pretty much everything about this one. The color, perch, light, and soft sharpness of this beautiful owl. Agree with a little more on the bottom and a little less on top if you got it.

Great eye contact, and I would move him up a bit too. Still, well captured Jay.

Nice detail and pose. I agree there is too much negative space on top.
