The Siskins have returned to my area after almost a 10 year absence. Image made with a Canon 40D with a 100-400 IS Lens. 1/800 at f 9.0 ISO 320. I removed a couple small distracting branches, and cropped a little.

Good find and calling pose. I wish for a lower angle and more eye contact.

We had a nice invasion of these guys here too this winter. Before this year I had seen a grand total of 1 Pine Siskin in my yard...this year I've had flocks of 30-40 birds come daily for last few months!!

Good find, I'm glad you were able to document it. Nice singing pose too. I only wish for a less steep angle. They love niger seed, so you can try to attract some lower with a niger feeder and nice perches.
