I took the warm tone IR, desaturated it, layered it and erased to the gold tones. then used levels to work on the white and black. comments appreciated.

Steve, I like the concept here-The posterization/artifacts in the sky on the right are a bit distracting and I would clean-up the eraser/dodge marks in FG under tree. I love the composition and the gold trees it's really neat-just a few tweaks

I totally agree with Denise. There are some artifacts in the sky and some on the ground below the tree that leave me looking at them instead of those gorgeous golden trees.

Boy, this has great possibility, though!!!

nits have been covered. Just wondering how you got the halo on the horizon? if you evened out the sky to get a creamy solid grey, I think it'd work. and perhaps lighten up the right foreground to get some detail visible... I love the gold trees...

Michael, the horizon is as it processed. Ithink it was just lighter. I wish I knew how to even out the sky.
If you know the secret, please let me know. I did try to reduce noise, but it did not work.
    Thanks,
