    Default Quetzal

Hi. This is a bit of a different quetzal image than what I've normally seen. I was able to get pretty close to this guy and even had halfway decent light with which to work -- both tall orders for the quetzal!

I appreciate any comments/suggestions. The reds look a bit orange on my monitor but I'm interested to read what others think.

Tech: Canon 20D, Canon 300 mm f2.8 lens, 2x, f5.6, 1/160, ISO 400, tripod. Only post-processing was a bit of vibrance and saturation and cloning of a small piece of twig near the bird's bill

These birds are so beautiful and I would love to see them sometime. I like the eye contact and colors in this one and might sharpen the bird more.

Unbelievably beautiful and wonderful detail and eye contact. Really like the forward wing too. Would love to see one of these one day Greg. thanks for sharing.

Unbelievable colours! Could perhaps do with another round of sharpening?
