    Default Up Close and Personal

This is another image in my winter finch series that I just processed. I find Lapland Longspurs more skittish than buntings and larks. They are easier to photograph when the wind is strong since the sound of the shutter is more muted that way.

Fabulous image, and great field technique to get so close. You earned this one the hard way by enduring the cold and the wind!

Grace is spot on! Speaking of spots, it looks like there are 3 of them in front of the bird, maybe from cloning?? Very nice image, Axel!

Thanks, Mike! These spots were there in the original, I guess I could have cloned them out but they didn't really bother me.

Cool, wasn't sure if you saw them or not. They kind of look like a face... two eyes and a mouth. :)

Great image Axel. Sharp as a tack! I had hoped to get a shot of these guys this wintered but never got close enough for a good shot. Well Done!

Perfect eye contact, exposure, and sharpness. Did you dig a hole in the snow to get that low Axel? :)

Axel, I can't think of any way to improve this one. Great job on the exposure and DOF.

    Cheers,

Great posture, exposure and excellent low perspective - I know how difficult it is to photograph small birds on the ground!

Excellent low angle Axel, and very well exposed. I also like the softer colours in the BG. Congrats on a super image.

You've really nailed these down as good as it gets Axel, fabulous indeed.
