OPAL - Osprey Packing A Lunch with a little left over. Asking for an Eagle attack this guy was booking it across the lake. Now that I post it, it appears to have a little magenta in the sky.

I like the eye contact and the fish adds to it. I would sharpen the bird more and remove the horizontal line underneath the bird. It's probably due to adding canvas. I would crop it a bit tighter.

Thanks Axel, the super moderator "Hawk Eye". I don't think it will take more enlargement comfortably but I will give it a try and attend to the rest and repost later.

Axel, do you figure that's enough?

I would crop it like this and also sharpened a bit more. Don't forget to convert to sRGB, I did it in this one.

Axel's repost looks much better. Bill, nice job on the exposure in the original capture.

    Cheers,

Nice repost Axel and I agree with the excellent exposure comment. The fish is a nice bonus too.

Thanks Axel and everyone. Did you get the additional contrast from the sharpening or converting to sRGB? I do not know how to convert a Adobe RGB over out of the camera once it's in PS. Any hints on this would be appreciated.

I only converted to sRGB which made the image look less flat. In PS, go to Edit and 'convert to profile' and choose sRGB as destination space.

Is this something you do after your done to prepare for the web JPEG only, and saved as a different file? My workflow is all set for Adobe.

Yes, it's for web only before saving as a jpg and set to 8 bit file. That way you can keep the TIFF for possible printing in Adobe RGB and 16 bit.

Thanks again Axel. I cropped a little more and used LCE (R 50 / A 30) rather than sRGB which I felt gave me a little more control and added 2 points of levels input to brighten. I am comparing yours and mine as we speak. I may try both and print them. I appreciate your help.

Great pose and a loot to boot!

I like the tighter version, but I see some purple chromatic aberration on the belly of both reposts. Best to remove it in ACR at conversion.

Good and clear view and capture.

Viewing all of the reposts it looks like Alex' has over-sharpened his version considerably with light pixels at wings edge that seem to be glaring. One thing your OP image did not need in my opinion is brightening. On this monitor your 'first repost' is the best of the lot though it should have sRGB profile conversion for Web Viewing. That said, I think that a compromise between your originally posted image and your first repost may have been just right.

I would agree with Kim's post as to using the compromise image. Nice shot, Bill.
