Northern gannet off the coast of Long Island

This was a treat as I often see gannets fishing way off shore, never close enough to photograph. Love the auto focus ability of the canon 50D (I always use center point)

I like the wing position and it is great to see them so close to the shore. I might crop some off the bottom.

Well done. Looks as if the edge was off the sun which is always a plus. Yes for a crop from the bottom. Sharp with a nice wing position. It looks as if the eye could use a bit of work.

Very lovely flight image Grace. I agree about cropping some from the bottom but love the flight pose and eye contact. Would love to see one of these and many thanks for sharing.

Lovely surprise capture, Grace. Agree on the crop and some work in the eye. They have difficult eyes to photograph.
