At that moment, this uneven light situation seems interesting to me. Don't know if it works with the shadows on the bird, at least the head is well lit.

I'm not a fan of mixed light but do like this image as presented !!! If anything might take a little of the bottom only Very good feel and appealing !!!

Hi - like the pose and good head angle with nice eye contact, mixed lighting seldom works very well - however I find this image appealing - the shadows are not to extreme and as a result I think this one works fairly well.
