Well, I don't have any Bald Eagles or Ospreys near :D so today I just decided to play a bit with some Pigeons, and here's a pose I've enjoyed :) Hope you like it, my only wish is to have gotten the head a bit more separated from the wing.
I agree about the shadow showing on the wing..I think it adds alot to the image. Great eye contact and some amazing detail..I like the framing as well.
The only flaw I can find in your image is the four dust bunnies in the upper right corner. And I'm mentioning this only to be humorous. :)
Your captured moment in time is beautiful and it doesn't matter to me that the subject is a pigeon. It's the unusual and graceful shape of the bird in flight that captures my attention. Sometimes I wonder if the preoccupation of some avian photographers with the perfect head angle, wing placement and where the eye is focused pulls them away from the beauty, magic and grace of the moment in time they are photographing.
A 'common' bird beautifully captured. I agree with your observation about the head merging with the wing, but the bonus you got was the shadow as already pointed out.
Charming.
Randy
PS: Thanks for your work on my spoonie. I am still thinking about him!
Brilliant exposure, and this is pin, pin sharp. Although there is lots of space to fly into, I think a vertical crop would work too. Very well captured Ramon.
