    Default Moving with Quick Mask

I seem to somehow developed a problem, in extending my canvas in CS3. Afterextending my canvas I am utilising Quick Mask to select an area from the remaining image to fill the new area. This has always worked in the past, but now the selected area is moving as a very opaque copy, any ideas?

Ken, this could be due to the opacity of the brush setting. If the setting isn't at 100% or close, this can happen. The opacity slider is below the word "window" between "help" and "view". When you use the brush to make your selection, set the opacity at 100%.

Ken that is strange. When something like this happens I usually close down the program and start again. Not sure it will make any difference but worth the try

btw is this happening one any image you try to extend canvas?

I have tried that as well, it did not work.

It seems to apply to all images.

Are there any settings that could have gone funny in Quick Mask, this always worked before?

Did you flatten the layers before?

Thanks to everybody for your assistance. I have now managed to make it work, but I have no idea which if any of the above restored these functions. At one stage I had no "marching ants".
