This is another image in the sequence of the Gnu/Wildebeest kill, shot in the Masi Mara Triangle. I realize that this is very tight but it is just about full frame. This is a slide scan so no detailed exposure information is available. Thanks for looking, I hope you like it. C and C welcome, I'm here to learn. - John

I don't mind the tightness here since it emphasizes the "kiss".
One reality of the natural world, very well portrayed.

This a a very good shot indeed, perhaps just a little over saturated.
You have a very nice way of describing suffocation, but it is surely better than being eaten alive which is often the case.

While I like it as is a tighter crop eliminating some of the rear of the lioness could be more dramatic.

Not so sure oversaturation is what you see here Ken. It has that look of being a dark or underexposed image which was lightened just to the starting point of unraveling but as it was mentioned, this was a slide scan not an Digital Image so I find it completely acceptible.
As for the brutally honest portrayal of Nature, this is an awesome image framed tight or loose. You were very fortunate to witness and capture this. Very well done and presented indeed!
