    Default Bluebird and snowscapes

The Bluebird is one of the earliest returning songbirds up here in Minnesota. It was nice being able to get her on Bristlecone with the snowfall recently.

Very cool, not your typical bluebird setting. The snow and soft light make this one special.

This series of yours is a delight. Your composition in this image is unique, and so perfectly displays your beautiful subject on an interesting perch. The gradient bg matches her perfectly and the falling snow tops it off. I do feel as if I would like a small (!) trim from the right side. These would make lovely prints, Mike.

    Hi Mike:

You have created a special picture here, with a gentle feel to it. The lighting is nice and soft. Love the colors and the detail. The snow on the Bristlecone and in the air is a huge plus. It all comes together to nicely for what I see as a winner!

Lovely pose from the little guy Mike, and I like the pastel colours in this. It is obvious that you wanted to include the whole plant which then puts the subject central, but its balanced nicely. Great capture.

Love the images with snow, they are special and this one is no exception, the comp is interesting, and as the bird is looking inside the frame I like it, the pose, light, detail, BG, colors and mood are great. Congratulations!

This is a delightful image, the contrast of spring and snow are a pleasure to view and the falling snow is a wonderful element

You couldn't ask for a better perch and pose! I like the sense of motion in the snowflakes. I might clone out the horizontal pine needle at the bottom of the frame.

Very appealing image Mike indeed. Soft light has been mentioned. I love the flakes of snow too. Is this a female? Sorry, I am not familiar with your northern birdies. :)

    Hello Akos,

Yes, this is the female Eastern Bluebird. The male is much deeper blue and vibrant in color.

Hi Mike, I agree with Lou, the perch (with snow on it) and lighting make is so stunning. Super.
