This was taken at the International Crane Center in Hokkaido. The cranes were in a field 100-500 ft from the photographers who worked from behind a barrier . The birds stopped there because the birds were fed fish in the am and grain at night by the government. They are the national bird and the people really look up to them. IDs Mark III,1/3200,iso 400,f/8.0 and 500mm. Shot from tripod,

Excellent exposure and beautiful action captured in this image. A little more separation of the beak of the bird on the right would be nice but I find this a very artistic image and very pleasing to view. IMO I would crop a little off the top to bring the subjects even more into spotlight.

I agree with Judy about the crop, I would also try to level the horizon and some NR to the great BG could help, I like the poses, action, light and exposure. Congratulations!

It is better now with this crop. But the BG could be a little bit noisereduction I think.
That is a great shot of wonderful birds, Tom!

The rotation helped and great action captured. Noise reduction of the BG has been mentioned. I would be tempted to clone out the fence posts. Keep them coming!
