I kept looking at the original of this and wondering what I could do with it to make it more interesting. I ended up doing a new layer via copy and running the "threshold" filter on it. I then mixed that back in with the background layer on which I lowered the opacity so it would show just a bit of color.

    Hope you like... :)

Kerry, This is OOTB! I think you are on to something here- I love how you can barely see the mountains in the BG. Not sure if it needs a rotation- I'm not crazy about the bush in the LC and I might do some clean-up cloning of some of the birds and shadows if it were mine.Overall a very interesting look you've created here!!I think it would be great to see the original for comparison-My personal opinion is- with a few small tweaks you've got yourself a winner!!Good job on this.

As requested, the original. Everything you see on the water is birds.

Thanks for posting the original-it needs a very very slight rotation. My problem for both is the clutter look on bottom-the bush and diff. shore lines-I guess I'd do a crop from bottom and clone the remains of the bush-I love the soft colors of the original. Maybe if you start off with something like this-I probably shouldn't have cloned the pelican at far left-
Kerry, Can you even understand the rambling?!! Sorry!!

Thank you Denise. Here is the modified modification... :) The rotation worked out to .06 degrees CCW.

i like it with the bushes in it. provides a better anchor i think than just the pelicans. it feels more balanced to me. maybe?

Hmmmm, so many to choose from. I tend to like the two in the middle because of the light. Silhouettes in that color sky look strange to my eyes.
