I really like the symmetry of the wings, background, the feet are in the frame and the Spoonbill is dead sharp.
IMO if pull a little bit of yellow out of the image it would look closer to what we saw. However, remembering when photographing a scene, it should be what you want seen and not necessarily what you saw, this could be your artistic vision.
Lovely shot, and the framing perfectly supports the title! James hit the technicals. I also like the slightly open bill. I might brighten it just a bit, I would like to see a bit more detail in the feet/legs, but obviously, the wings position is what makes the image for me.
I think this is a good example of: "the harder I work, the luckier I get"
