    was out at loxahatchee this morning and had an unlikely visitor. this bird flew through and i got a couple shots off at it. there were a few spoonies and some stilts too! second STK in palm beach county in last two weeks that i have seen!!

    D300, Bigma at 500mm, f/8, 1/4000s, ISO 800, 0EV.

    Fancy meeting you at Loxa Harold !!!!

    Did well getting on the bird !!! ... I never had a chance to get my lens on the bird !!! With the harsh mid day light there was not much more you could do exposure wise, any more would have blown the whites !!! I like the diagonal placement and all very sharp !!! Will try it again !!!

    Very cool looking bird. May be an option to darken down the sky a little.

    Good job getting on the bird Harold. The light looks harsh and the head angle could be better, but it sounds like you did well with the photographic hand you were dealt. You take what you can when an infrequent visitor makes an unexpected appearance.

    Harold, Really good job considering the conditions. I still never even saw one close enough to photograph!!
