    There were a couple dozen of these guys mixed with the sanderlings at Morro Bay this morning

    50D, 100-400 at 400
    1/1250, f/7.1, ISO 320

    Aidan:

    Good looking bird, low angle, good head angle, pleasent background.

    The exposure looks quite good, maybe just a few hot pixels, but Ok by me.

    My main concern is that the head/eye aren't critically sharp, not as sharp as the body. I would try some additional selective sharpening on the head and eye.

    Great head angle, angle and smooth BG. I agree regarding more sharpening of the bird.

    ditto the above guys. would you crop a little from the bottom the eliminate the reflection of the tail feathers? curious to see what others say.

    Nice image, Aidan, but I agree that the eye is soft and I feel the reflection detracts from the image.

    Lovely low angle, and wonder what this would have looked like with the reflection. I like the softer colours in this, and agree on a bit more sharpening.
