I saw this ground owl around the corner from my house and I stopped and took his picture. He seemed bored with the whole process. Data=f/6.3, 1/500, +1.0 ev, ISO 250, 500mm. Thanks for looking and your comments. John

INtersting to see the nictitating membrane partly pulled over. I think this is sharp and well composed. Shows great behavior. :) My only other suggestions would be to check the whites if they are clipped, and then crop as a vertical. :) Congratulations.

I sort of like the membrane John and the bird does seem bored Would prefer a vertical crop also, cutting half the body with room on the sides seems strange.

Do like the green bg and behavior I'm sure you will get him again !!!

    Hi John,
There is too much negative space on both sides of your bird, would too go with a vertical...

Hi John, I like the background. The pose of the owl is nice. I like the eyes with the nictitating membrane as I think it adds to the character of the bird. This defiantly projects a mood. I also agree with the suggested comments on the vertical crop. If you have an image with more of the owl I would love to see it. Thanks for sharing.

Neat behavior and the BG is super, nice feather detail in the bird

Agree with prior comments on crop etc.
