An early migrant Robin on one of the few snow-free patches on the front lawn last week. I couldn't easily get any more detail in the snow, but I'm not sure it's necessary.

D300, Tamron 200-500, braced against open car window, ISO800, 1/200, f9.0, spot-metered on the head. Noise Ninja used, but I think the image may be still a bit noisy, or possibily slight loss of sharpness due to movement. But the worm was down in a flash, and I'm glad I caught the action.

Hi Richard For metering why don't you meter of the snow and open one and one half?

Not bad for the slow shutter speed With you camera could even go to 1250 if you nail the exposure ... any under exposure would be deadly !!

hi richard - agree with Al - seeing a lot of artifacts as well - did you use shadow/highlights to open up the shadows maybe.??

THe image quality is a little poor sadly, but I find the action fantastic. Nice to see a worm being eaten. :) Well done and keep it up! :)
