That is for certain James. Plus you got him clearing the one still on the ground.

Even with the contrasty light, you did well with the exposure and no unpleasing dark shades on the deer.

Terrific action, shame on the light conditions. The one on the groud could use some more sharpening in the face.
    Thanks for sharing this moment!

Thanks, and I agree on the light I was calling it quits for the day and just happened to be watching the deer thru my lens as they were wading out into the water. Then out of no where came this young buck.

As for sharpening the doe in the back ground.... I'm unsure how to do that as she was actually behind the deer jumping and my focus point was on the buck, so that left her out of focus. If someone care to share how to sharpen her I be glad to experiment and see what I am able to do.

James, to selective sharpen or apply any effect locally, first create a duplicate layer in PS (control J) and apply the sharpening so it looks good on the second subject, disregarding if it looks overdone in the rest of the image. The go to the bottom of the layers palette and create a layer mask, selecting the box third from left.
Now, making sure the foreground color on your tool box is black, use the brush tool to paint black in the rest of the image. Black will erase the effect. White will paint it back in.

    Hope this helps.
