Here is a older one that couldn't quite bring myself to delete --- had a number of frames from this (posted one in the past).

Sun was Harsh and from the wrong angle - result some whites that are blown out!!
Could not change positions and just as I held the camera up - the egret took off.

Think its time to let go off it - what do you think - Off to the Bin?????

    Lance,

You could spend a life time trying to capture this moment again (leap of faith). Of course, as a beginner this might be my perspective from the bottom rung of the photography ladder. My vote, let er stay.

Lance the take-off pose and feet along with the all the details you have make this a keeper to me-worth a bit of fix.

Hi Lance I also have lots of images that should go but there is something about it that makes me hand on !! The two things that bother me here is the harsh light you pointed out and would like seeing the face area lighter !!

Dont mind at all Nonda- the best way to learn :) - I guess I am just heading in a different direction nowdays - I prefer to try and get EVERYTHING right in camera - hopefully even the cropping etc.

Lance I agree on getting it right in camera, I really don't like post much, but I don't see egrets much either:D

You obviously are attached to this Lance, so I would keep it. The only thing working against you was the light.

Mr. Peters...your self assessment is dead on...:D I still like the capture, I know that both you and I strive to get it right the first time in camera...this attitude makes us sharper and more demanding...and there is noting wrong with that...congratulations on a very fine composition...just tone down the hot spots and it's fine...good show...

I don't mind it at all Lance. Sure not all aspects are perfect, but it is the action that makes the image worthwhile more so than techs. My 2c. :)

I like it as presented Lance. Considering that you were hand holding the monster, you've done great. sharp as a tack

i remember the post, lance. i think it's nice to hang on to some of the old stuff. i deleted a ton of stuff and can think of a few i wished i had kept now if just for educational purposes. it's great to strive for the goals you have set. i am in that same mindset right now!
