    Default Osprey Looking Over Shoulder

Another Florida osprey. I like the backward glance.

1DMK2 with 500 f4 and 2X TC. Evaluative metering at ISO 640 and EV Zero. F 9 at 1/3200. Slight crop, Noise Ninja, and selective sharpening.

Thanks for looking. All comments most welcome.

    Ed:

Nice pose and exposure. I agree about the backward glance, but because of that I would prefer more room to the left, and less to the right. Great talons.

Thanks Randy. I actually thought of that and decided to crop it this way. Since I made it this more a square format from the original I can go the other way easily.

Hi Ed, I too like the pose and also the snag it is perched on. I'm not crazy about the OOF tree though - could you have moved either side to get it out of the frame (realizing you have to keep light angle in mind...).

Ed good exposure and details on this bird. I too would like to see a bit more space for the bird to look into.

I like the pose but agree with the comments above that the bird is too centered. The image is a bit blue and would look good warmed up a bit.

    Ed -

    Very nice capture here IMO.

Color right on IMO/ I see no color cast in the image on this monitor not does the histogram read that there is one. Sharp but not too sharp.

The only thing that bothers me has been mentioned - the OOF tree foliage. If your processing belief allows such change then personally my advice is the pen tool and patch tool are your friend. That OOF foliage could be gone in seconds.

Great sighting, and love the pose Ed. Agree that he should move to the right. Still, well captured.
