Close as I've ever gotten to one and in really good evening light to boot. Pretty much full frame, like the blue bubbles so duck is heading out of the frame.

Hi Nonda - cool - I would crop about 1/3 off the top for more of a pano feel also accentuating the forward movement feel - perphaps a bit of a unconventail crop with more space behind the bird than in front:)

    Like it a Lot!!

Good show Nonda! This is a tough duck to photograph due to the dynamic range required. Hard not to overexpose the white patch and still get details in the blacks. Well done.

Thanks loads folks! I had tucked myself down in an old goose nest and was fairly unobtrusive, was really shocked when this guy landed as close as he did. A fun learning experience on making do with what is at hand rather than hauling in a blind.

Glad you still have some of the lovely vertical bokeh in the pano Nonda. BG colours are quite lovely. Even got the head turn!

    Hi Nonda,

Nice, what a beautiful duck! Love the light too. Great to see the bubbles. I am not going to speculate how the bubbles became, maybe some flatulence? LOL :D
