    Default Turkey

Been trying to get an image of this since I started about 4 years ago. Finally got a cooperative show off in some decent light. 40D, 1-400L @ 190mm, f6.3, 1/640s, ISO 400, + 1/3 EC, cropped from vertical.

Cool pose, I also like the setting and would give him more room at the bottom since the feet are clipped. I might clone out some of the grass in front of the chest. Maybe a little bit less sharpening.

I love the habitat depicted here, very appropriate. Neat pose, and you've captured the iridescence quite nicely. Shame about the clipped feet but hopefully you have them in your original (since you mention it's cropped from vertical).

Stve, great pose and colours in this habita image. Axel and Dan have already commented about adding more room for the birds feet.

Thanks for the comments. As for the feet, I didn't even notice them being clipped. I went back to the original to see about reworking it and found they weren't visible anyway since he was in a little depression and his feet were covered by the FG grass.

This big guy is strutting his stuff. Nice capture, I love the irredescent colors and habitat. Were you able to get a series of shorts or was he gone the instant the shutter sounded?

Thanks for the comments. I did get a few more shots. He and the others with him actually came towards where I was sitting. He gave me more opportunities at his other end than head-on though. I also was a little excited and forgot to change the focus limiter switch for a few shots as he got closer.

Find those feet! LOL. Excellent capture of this handsome fellow. Love the prancing plummage. Nothing like a strut, perfect colors, prime feathers and that blue head! You got it all steve. Now go get the feet. :D

I really like the setting for this handsome guy. Nice light and gorgeous colors. Even if you can't see the feet, you should add a bit more of the original vertical image at the bottom for the "virtual" feet. Very nice capture.

Good capture. I bet you were excited!

Maybe a bit over-sharpened but I know how hard it is to get the iridescences of these birds.

As mentioned legs chopped do not help, maybe let the natural depression of the ground take care of that.
