As the sun was setting, at the end of an evening at Green Cay, this beauty was posing in the late afternoon shadows. There was still the last sunlight filtering through the vegetation behind this beauty. I cranked the ISO to 800 and opened up all the way (F4) and still only 1/50 shutter speed. I didn't want to go higher for fear of too much noise in all those dark tones. The catch light is the dwindling sun reflecting off the roof trim behind me. Although it's soft, I liked the effect of the filtered late light.

I like the composition and eye contact and might raise the color temperature a few degrees and remove some of the vertical lines above the head and bill. Maybe a bit more sharpening of the bird.

I agree with Axel 100%. Would loko at working the eye to get the iris showing more. I like the comp, but you could also crop a bit at bottom just to close off the open area in LLC (but being careful not to clip the lowest feather tip in LRC)
