I have no idea what bird this feather came from, but think it may be from a hawk or owl - macro shots add a really different perspective, but I had no idea how difficult it was to control focus and light with a macro set up. Makes me really appreciate a lot of the work on this forum, especially when I consider how much effort and thought goes into these shots. This is too much fun!

Hey George, another nice feather shot, and your right macro is a lot of fun.

George, Looks good. Love the composition and color patterns. I would like to see the left side of the feather more in focus, looks awkward to me having one side in sharp focus and the other side not.

    Well done George,
I like the color rendition and the fine details and texture...

Kudos to have found this beautiful looking feather...
Simple love the patterns on this one. Might agree with Christopher Miller on preferring 'left side in focus'.

Nice color and pattern a little more DOF is all it needs.

I really am enjoying your feathers, George. Agree that the left side needs a little more clarity and sharpness - might try f18 or 32 next time. (Hey, it sure works for Mike Moats!) If you ever find out what bird this feather belongs to I'd love to know.

Thanks for the feedback, I could certainly have used a bit more dof - there were a few feathers where the curvature made it difficult to keep them in the focal plane, but I'm sure f32 or so would help a lot as suggested. Thanks again
    George
