    Little Pied Cormorant photographed by the lake in Canberra.

    Canon 40D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4 tc, 580EX flash + bb, beanbag on car window, ISO 400, 1/160, f/5.6, fec -1 2/3, highlight tone priority on, shot vertical, slight crop from right, warming filter (81) applied (15%) in PS, oof reed disguised lower right corner, red-eye fixed.

    A real cutie, love the pose, good eye contact, white is a little washed out for my eye.

    Thanks for your comment Lowell. Here's a version with white point in levels pushed right out. Nothing over 228 now.

    Beautiful bird captured very well. Love the comp. and the perch. Never saw one , so thanks for showing it.

    Love the pose and BG Simon. Well done. I wonder if you took out the continuation of that branch above the cormorant whether that would make us feel like it is missing? I like it! :)

    Excellent feather detail, and the whites in the original look fine to me on my screen. Comp looks great too. Super image Simon.
