A real surprise for us in Texas, on an Alan Murphy workshop, last week. A bird we heard a number of times but never expected to see no less have it pose for us on a fine perch. This bird's range is only in central Texas north to south and into Mexico. A life bird for me and a beautiful male to boot.

Great set-up, love the perch and pose. The BG is also super! I would sharpen it more. :)

    Joe:

Excellent. Agree with Bob and Akos, great bird, perfect perch for this size and type of bird, the greenery at lower left is very complimentary. Just right on the exposure, any more flash would have been too much!

    Cheers !

That is a beauty, Joe. Very complete with great bird, perfectly set off by that background. I'd apply a slight gausian blur to the bg and slightly sharpen the bird more. Unless, of course, i've been at the computer too long and my eyes are failing me.

Good pose and setting, and a good job with exposure. I'd be tempted to sharpen a bit more.
