    Default Stuck

For the past couple of months, the weather was pretty cloudy & it used to rain pretty often hindering any outdoor photo activity. The clouds opened up & its been quite sunny for the past week...
Was out searching for macro subjects when my friend drew my attention to this dry leaf which was caught in the crack of a tree bark.

    Techs:
Nikon D300, Nikkor 105mm VR micro, tripod
    f/13, 1/10, ISO200

    Critiques welcome...

Kaushik, It's nice to see you back! I love the different diagonal lines in this, your composition is very interesting. Your dried leaf is highlighted nicely.

This is well composed and executed...I like the contrasting colors of the leaf and it's surroundings...the texture and fine details are superb...good show...

Beautiful image, Kaushik. I do think the leaf might be a tad oversharpened - could just be my monitor, though. I like the hint of light at the very top...very nice touch to an otherwise dark image.

    Kaushik:

Very nice. I was struck by the play of the diagonals as well, the sense of texture.

    Thanks for sharing.

I also like the composition and the contrast between the leaf and the bark. Beautiful image.

    Thank you folks !

@Jules: I actually ran a second round of sharpening on the leaf selectively. I did it so as to emphasize on the veins. Perhaps it might look a tad overdone as you said.
