    Default Three of a kind

This was taken in the Pilanesberg Nature Reserve, 180kms north of Johannesburg. This hide is always active with Pied Kingfishers, and on a good day, one can capture all sorts of images. I was lucky to get three of them together, and they were making a racket, thus with all their beaks open.

Pretty cool to see three in the frame. I also like the perch, composition and BG. There is a pretty strong magenta cast.

    Very cool, indeed !
    Pano crop works well.

Biggest "problem" with this image will be convincing people that
"No, I didn't do it in Photoshop". :)

    Axel, Mike, thanks very much.

Axel, I agree, there seems to be a magenta cast, although part of the BG below the perch has that colour. I did perhaps overdo it. Here is my repost

    Very nice.

I like the repost and think it was an improvement.

Maybe do something with the bright spot in the back ground at top of branch as it is distracting.

Repost is a step in the right direction, but there is still quite a cast showing. Try selectively desaturating the magenta channel in Hue/Saturation. Too bad about the middle bird's head angle - that would have been too sweet having three perfect head angles!

Stuart, Really nice to see three in one image-I still struggle for one! I still see a slight cast. The BG colors are fantastic! Well done!!

    Stuart -

    RE: color cast

In CS3 go Adjustment Layer Color Balance
Three sliders there take Cyan Red to -5
    Magenta Green 0
    Yellow Blue -20

you can play with those # a bit
