Here's a female peregrine falcon from the Hudson River area. The bird is not captive. It was originally banded in Quebec in 2001, and it returns to N.Y. to nest along the Hudson River every spring. mark III, 500 f4, 1.4x, iso 400, f9, 1/400, +1 ec

    Cool! Nice Peregrine.

Not much I would change. Possible a little contrast adjustment with Adjustment Layer Levels 0/.0.78/250 or about.

Light is a bit harsh, but I love the image, great GREAT perch, lovely comp, BG, detail and colors. Big congratulations!

Thanks for the info of this individual's ring. Great looking perch, I love the lines throughout. Light, as mentioned, is harsh. Toning down the bright chest just a bit would help negate the effect of that light. I wouldn't mind more room below and above - other then giving more breathing room it would also have prevented the top part of the perch from being clipped. Too bad about the dark shadow cast on the bird. Still a very good sighting, and great view of those talons!! :-)

    Hi Herb!

I like the sharpness and details, and good head angle. I would give it a little more room on top. I like how the branch echo and frame the bird. Yes, too bad about the dark shadow.
