    From a visit late last year to Ft. DeSoto. Hope I got the ID correct - shorebirds still confuse me when trying to decide who is who.

    Hi Rich,

    I think it is a Sanderling. Not very efficient as far as little shorebird go, but the long bill looks familiar :)

    You have the light source from high right judging by the shadow of the wing, but very soft, so it isn't as problematic as if it were harsh. Wish you had waited 1 second for the wave to clear the legs, but maybe the next one would have gotten to the head, hmmmm..... birds don't watch where they walk anymore :(

    Seriouly, nicely composed and only wish for a bit of a head turn your way.

    Hi Rich Agree on the head turn and would take a little of the top Would have just a tad of that darker area to balance !!! btw that is a sharp image for the shutter speed !!!

    Adding to the other comments, I might raise the color temperature as it appears to have a slight blue cast.
