From Hokkaido, Japan, in mid February. Thanks for looking. JR

I like the concept of this image. The snow distracts against the dark BG. I would try to crop a little closer. I would also remove some of the noise.

Keep them coming and thanks for sharing such wonderful looking bird.

I like the light, head angle and details and might try a vertical crop of neck and head only.

IMO cropping it down to a shoulder pose would work better. Also I would crop left and right sides leaving the head off center on the right.

Wonderful looking crane! Agreed about some more NR work. I am not fussed about the split between snow and far BG, but here is a crop that eliminates the snow totally. I think it can be cropped with snow in it too. THe neck's curvature makes a nice line and leads the eye across the frame. A vertical I would suggest very much. :) THanks for sharing.

Thank you all for taking the time to comment - and to post a rework. I surely like the crop.

I guess I liked in the original that the colors in the background white and brown where also shown by the bird. But I admit that I never was quite sure about the crop.

Anyway, I may have been overthinking this. Thanks again, JR
