Default IR Without Converting the Camera

I would like to know if you can make an IR photo with Adobe PSE7 without converting the camera because I can't afford to buy another one.

You can purchase a R72 IR filter and shoot through it. Your exposures get extremely long. It basically cuts visible light out and only lets in some IR. There is enough to get the "IR" effect. A cheaper way is to find some old unexposed and developed slide film. You can double up the "Black" exposures, put it between the lens and body and shoot IR.(not the best suggestion because it could add dust and debris inside the camera when you expose) If you have a p&s, you can put the doubled up film in front of the lens, but you will still have very long exposures.

As Dug says but you also can not focus with a DSLR camera as there is no visible light so you have to prefocus and then put the filter on.

Caleb, I use Corel PSP X2, and it has an IR filter you can apply to your images during processing. The program sells for about $50.

    Caleb,

One of the best sites to get a camera converted is Life Pixel. Their site is:
    www.lifepixel.com. They did my 20D.

The cost depends on the camera. You're looking at in the neighborhood of
$300+. Sony, isn't one of the cameras they convert.
