    Default Red Tailed Hawk

Was fortunate to have a new friend drop by for one day ... we chatted for a bit ... then he flew away :)

Shot with the Canon MkIII and 500mmf4 at 1/640, f5.6 at 400 ISO, handheld.

    Thanks for looking :)

Great background, tack sharp, great exposure, good head angle - what more could you want? I don't mind seeing only the left eye, especially with the profile of the beak clear, not overlapping other structures. Was there any more room at the bottom?

Interesting presentation. Sharpness is super and the head turn nice. I keep wondering if a crop that takes even more off the left would be better?

Being a background person, this one passes in a big way! As far as the re-cropping thoughts/comments... just think eye placement and rule of thirds right? So maybe a small amount off the left side would be good, but thats all personal preference stuff.
