    Default Tufted Titmouse

Dark, overcast day in mid November - the kind I like.
    1/100 sec @ f11 and ISO 400.
Canon 1D mkII, 300mm f4L IS with 2x extender II and 550EX set for fill.
Hand held on a BushHawk 320D.

Nice work. PRobably a little too static a pose and tight on the RHS for me. Cute little bird though and I like the complementing colors.

I agree with Akos. Needs more room in from, and too bad about the vertical trunk cutting behind the tail. Did the bird do a 180 turn, and did you take images of then too?

    P.S. I too like overcast days... :-)

Cute bird. I agree more room on the right would be good. It shows a bit more noise than I would have expected for a MK2 and ISO 400. I also wonder why you used f 11? Opening up would have allowed you to use a faster shutter speed and/or reduce the ISO.

I made a handful of images in 2008 that I liked, this was one of the better ones. It's not good enough. That is some bitter medicine to swallow but thank you for your honest comments.

Don't despair Kevin! We're all here to learn. I know I do so almost every day!

P.S. Took a quick peak at your gallery - you've got some good stuff in there (the White Lined Sphinx is killer!!)

Thanks Daniel, I feel like I'm leading the league in being struck out but I guess I'll just keep swinging away.

Kevin, don't despair mate. It is still a really appealing image. Just keep at it and work hard. Looking through that smugmug gallery of yours, I love the banking Sandwich Tern image!!! And what about that Borad-tailed Hummingbord? WOW!
